Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout has agreed to join Marseille on loan after holding talks with the club's president Vincent Labrune.
The French side made an approach for the 23-year-old on Monday after being alerted to his availability.
Veretout only joined Aston Villa last summer in an £8m move from Nantes, but he is keen to go out on loan after the club was relegated to the Championship.
And, according to L'Equipe, he has decided that Marseille will be his destination after holding talks with Labrune.
The club president reportedly rang Veretout on Tuesday night to ensure him that moving back to Ligue 1 was the right decision.
The Frenchman has been won over and a loan deal should be announced by the weekend.
