Several musicians from across the continent turned up to

 receive honours at the second edition of the African Muzik

 Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) held on the night of Saturday

 October 10, 2015 at the Black Academy of Arts and Letters

 in Dallas, USA.

The awards which was hosted by Nigerian comedy king 

Basket Mouth and East African comedienne Ann Kansiime,

 witnessed stunning performances from chart-topping

 musicians including the legendary Yvonne Chaka Chaka

, South African rapper AKA, Yuri Da Cunha (Angola), Carlou

 D (Senegalese), Vee (Botswana), Yemi Alade (Nigeria),

 Diamond Platnumz, Ommy Dimpoz and Vanessa Mdee,

 Tade Lasgiidii and Teddy-A.

Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz emerged the biggest winner 

on the night with 3 awards — the AFRIMMA Video of The

 Year, African Artist of the Year and East Africa Artist of The

 Year.South Africa’s AKA followed, winning two 

awardsnamely, Best Male South Africa and Best

 Collaboration for the song ‘All Eyes on Me’.

 

Davido for the second time won Best Male West Africa

 whilst his female Nigerian compatriot Yemmi Alade took

 home plaque for Best Female West Africa.

 

With the Best Dancehall Artist award in his bag, Stonebwoy


became the only Ghanaian artiste to win in this year’s


edition, though Sarkodie, Pappy Kojo, No Tribe, among
